We had our first serious rain earlier this week which quickly highlighted the areas of the house which need a bit more work. Guttering scored a very high mark.
While I’m sad to see the end of summer heat I’m thrilled to be well into autumn. The mornings are crisp, the days are mellow and the nights are cool. And the rain leaves everything feeling refreshed and smelling wonderful. We lit our first fire of the season (more to test the heating system and less to do with cold weather) and the promise of warm, cozy winter nights was magical.
This week for chick<8000clicks>chick we got wet. I’m swirling down the drain on the watery left while djbeat is tentatively exploring baby puddles on the right.

PS: A special Bravo obrigada to DaddyP, KPX and djbeat for their comments on The Next Houseguest.

very smart to test the heating before you really need it… i didn’t test the hot water in my new place before i moved in. yikes…
We were a bit nervous after the mice found their way into our ceiling, but so far so good!
Is the baby puddle a baby’s ‘puddle’? Enquiring minds need clarification …….
Oooh, good question. It almost doesn’t look like real water, does it?
oh you papersurfers always going the step beyond… fully clean water – right out of the hose. (ok that could be dirty too).
What a pretty drain.
Can you imagine February? “Will this *$∫`^˙©øƒµ rain never stop…..” (VERY ancient Bedouin saying)
February weather tends to increase my Bedouin vocabulary …
PS: Please bring sunshine! Preliminary weather report showing a few signs of rain next week … x
