As mães, lock up your daughters because Daddy Bravo is coming to town.
I’m happy, excited and nervous about my father’s upcoming stay at Cabril. He’s never been to Portugal so fingers crossed the weather co-operates and we can play tourist for a few days.
We’ll explore the countryside and local village cafés. He’ll marvel at my newfound ability to serve an edible dinner. Hopefully he’ll bring some Kümmelschnapps (caraway seed schnapps), the best digestive aid known to Germans and their bratwurst diets. Undoubtedly we’ll open several bottles of wine and talk into the wee hours.
And hopefully Penfold will be too busy building stairs to participate in any further Bravo interrogations …

Oh dear, we’ll be very dull after that. I like an early night, me. Perhaps we can be very silly just after breakfast to make up for it.
I think a little silly after breakfast will be the perfect way to recover from all those late Bravo nights … x
